About the Wheatsheaf Pub

The Wheatsheaf Pub is a family-owned Nanaimo pub that has been passed down through the generations, and is a long-time landmark and fixture in the community.

In fact, “The Wheaty”, as it’s known to locals, has BC’s oldest original liquor license, issued by Queen Victoria in 1885!

Please take a minute to read the full Wheatsheaf history or check out our gallery with pictures from some of our favourite parties over the years.

We are proud to offer a phenomenal menu featuring many homemade items and of the talent we bring in for our many special events.  Besides these events, we also host Vancouver Island’s most legendary and longest-running Music Trivia Night, every Thursday from 8-10 PM.

The Wheatsheaf Pub is not simply a pub.  We pride ourselves on being an integral part of the neighbourhood.  As such, we’ve added on our Cold Beer and Wine Store which features some of the industry’s most passionate and knowledgeable staff and a large selection of hand-sourced products.  We also own the ball fields directly across the street, where we put on seasonal softball, soccer, and volleyball events.  The Wheatsheaf is also proud to say we are in the BC Softball Hall Of Fame for our longtime sponsorship.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or feedback you may have.  We look forward to having you in for a pint and welcoming you to The Wheatsheaf Pub very soon!
